I keep forgetting we have a Mitsubishi dealer 5 minutes from my house.
They’ve moved on to the ‘acceptance’ stage and have stopped even trying to advertise. Besides, if they can’t finance you at the Honda dealer, they can just send you next door.

First one’s with a PHEV 4WD SUV(ish) though....

True.
The fact that all Mitsubishis sold in the west today are ugly as sin has not helped them one bit.

You say this as if Lexus and Nissan aren’t very successful. With showrooms full of crap.

I did not mean to disagree with you, just saying that the way cars look these days don’t seem to have any impact on their ability to sell. Do they Acura beak? Hmmm?

True....the Acura beak and Predator grill are atrocious . There are only a few models where those seem appropriate.
But they’re attached to luxury brands that undercut the Germans , have a good dealer network and are reliable.
Mitsu has none of these factors in their favor.

True. But those brands have other things going for them...

There is a mitsu dealer in PA that has quite a few exotics; theyll sell literally anything

It also doesn’t help that the Mitsubishi Mirage
is being undercut by the Nissan Micra which feels a little nicer, is $500 cheaper and has more power.

I would say that consumers are less sensitive to design now than they used to be. In the 1950s and ‘60s, ugly looks was literally all that was needed to completely destroy a car’s chances on the marketplace. Today, its still important, but rates somewhere below fuel economy, safety ratings, cup holder count, warranty coverage, resale value, and which dealer is offering the better lease terms.
